Community sponsors Health Village, helps almost 300 at Black Heritage and Music Festival
Over the opening weekend of August, the Community Outreach Team attended six events across greater Houston! They included four back-to-school festivals and the first annual Black Heritage and Music Festival at Discovery Green.
Thousands of people came to the Black Heritage and Music Festival, and Community sponsored the event’s ‘Health Village.’ We brought the Care-a-Van and were able to answer questions about our health plans, and other community groups were on hand to offer health information. By the end of the day, we were able to help almost 300 people!
Others at the Health Village included:
- Legacy Community Health
- Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse
- Honey Child from March of Dimes
- Black Girls RUN! & Black Men Run – Houston Chapters
- MD Anderson
Thanks to our Outreach Team for all of their hard work! They could not have done it alone, though, so know that everyone here at Community plays an important part in making sure that everyone in our community has access to affordable health coverage.
